Pyrite

Pyrite is a fascinating mineral known as the “Fool’s Gold,” yet it is far from foolish. Its shimmering beauty contains a stone of latent fire that can be ignited by striking it against metal or stone. As an Earth element, it resonates with Fire energy, representing the sun’s warmth and long-lasting presence and the ability to generate wealth through one’s own power. It is masculine, an action-oriented, vitalising stone that taps into one’s abilities and potential, boosting the flow of ideas. Pyrite, also known as Iron Pyrite, was called “Cat’s Gold” in Germany. Native American tribes of the Americas revered it as a magical healing stone and used it to create mirrors for gazing and divination. In the 1800s, it was a favoured decorative stone and carved into rosettes, shoe buckles, rings, snuff boxes, and other ornaments, becoming exceptionally popular in Victorian England for its use in jewellery. During World War II, it was mined for sulphur to produce sulfuric acid used in industry. 

Pyrite is a shielding, protective stone that makes an excellent amulet to wear or carry to deflect harm and danger. It is especially helpful when working away from home or performing hazardous tasks. It prevents ongoing control, criticism, and manipulation by a partner, parent, or employer, empowering the ability to resist without becoming angry or upset and shifting the balance of power.
